Mr. President: Over 4000 peaceful protesters have been arrested. While banksters continue to destroy the economy with impunity. You must stop the assault on our 1st amendment rights. Your silence sends a message that police brutality is acceptable. Banks got bailed out. We got sold out.

I see that the spirit of the OWS movement, in fact of all occupation and resistance movements, hasn’t escaped your astute observation. I’m deeply saddened and frustrated, however, to see someone who claims territory as an activist, especially one who has been active through many direct actions connected to the history of oppression in the USA, who doesn’t understand the root principles and goals of the movement called OWS. It’s great to have cheerleaders, especially publically recognized ones, behind the movement but the essential obstacles and struggles which OWS confronts with inclusiveness, racism, gender and democracy, a structure which is not parliamentarian, not as commonly practiced, representational, tragically escape your mental construct.
